It's sort of amazing how sensational mainstream media is when it comes to this Porncasting concept. This article, by CNET, makes it seem like not only are your children going to download porn onto their iPods and wisk themselves away from the prying eyes of their parents. Well, ok, maybe they will. But the dangers of online porn aren't as scarey as they make it out to be. The biggest danger is children stumbling upon porn in areas and times when it's not expected - not when they seek it out themselves. If you're a teen seeking porn, guess what, you're going to get it whether your parents want you to or not. But the possibility of lil' Joey at age 8 accidentally downloading a porncast is ridiculous.
As for the employer-concerns in this article - that's just stupid.

1. I really don't understand those fears about iPod porn and porncasts. Like you said there is no way an 8 year old kid will accidentally download porn. Podcasts are great because people CHOOSE to subscribe to the content they like. It's not like the undreds of email spams we get everyday in our mailboxes or the popups invading our screen in a Web browser. There is also a parental control panel in iTunes to disallow explicit content.
