Opie & Anthony go "Podcasting" - will Howard Stern follow?

Opie AnthonyIf you'll recall, XM Satellite Radio and Audible announced a multi-faceted partnership not too long ago, part of which was shared content deal that has nowc come to fruition. XM's Opie and Anthony Show (aka, the Norton 'n Friends Show) and NPR veteran Bob Edwards are now available for pay-download off Audible.com. Each show is available at $2.95 per episode, $12.95 per month or a yearly subscription price of $69.95, you can get your choice of Opie and Anthony or Bob Edwards Show delivered to your computer/portable media device. This is only the beginning for the XM/Audible partnership, and it'll be interesting to see what comes next.

Sirius isn't turning their backs to this technology either. With Adam Curry's PodShow on SIRIUS, and their Lance Armstrong Podcasts, Sirius definitely recognizes this emerging medium, but hasn't yet let on whether they'll be doing a similar setup for Howard Stern. At this point, the Web rights to his contract are unknown to the public, but we've only got a few months left before we find out.
