Pariahware has just released their Podcast Tuner for Max OSX. Rather than taking the approach that other have with using heirarchical category-based interface, Podcast Tuner takes the approach of Cable and PVR based listings. An interesting idea considering that these other technologies have been working at simplifying content listings for years, and could easily be applied to Podcasting.

The program downloads a list of Podcasts, and when you mouse-over the guide it displays the Podcast's description, episode description and the cover artwork. Simply clicking begins a download and automatic playing of the Podcast.

Our only gripe is the price is a bit steep for most. At $10/month or $100/year, Pariahware is now competing in Satellite Radio territory and all they're providing is the listing service. At $3-$5 a month, we might be less whiney about it, but we have enough $10+ month subscriptions that the wives are starting to complain.
